TREASURER’S REPORT.

The Treasurer’s Report for April was accepted as posted.  Nan reported a total balance as of April 30, 2008 of $30,297.13, including the tournament.  Nan also brought up our contract with Wachovia Bank; they charged us $18.58 for deposits we made to our account. After discussion, Nan recommended that we look into other banks for our business.  Fran said she would check with Regions and RBC Banks. Nan reported that she filed the Federal Tax Report on the internet.  The Board thanked Nan for taking care of that.

MEMBERSHIP

Jean reported that she had compiled a notebook for use as a directory by the club members for emergency phone numbers.  Fran will encourage members to list telephone numbers for contacts in case of an emergency.

OLD BUSINESS

Cleaning: Fran brought up the cleaning of the club house and bathrooms.  We are not completely satisfied with the job they are doing and the cost of the cleaning.  After discussion, Fran said she would talk to Neat and Pretty and get an estimate from them.

Yard maintenance:  Nancy reported that she has had Charles Pace keep up the grounds.  The board agreed to hire him as our yard maintenance man. She mentioned that the gutters need to be cleaned.  They will ask Bill Barton to look into getting the gutters cleaned out.

Web Site:  Nancy also reported that she had emailed Phil Purpura concerning the web site but has not heard from him.  Ed said that he would give Phil Nancy’s telephone number.  We need to take care of the expense of the website. Nancy said she will also check with the Audubon Society about who maintains their web site and the expense involved.

Friendship Game:  the Friendship Game will be held in Fairhope. Art Meyer will direct the game.  Nancy Robinson will coordinate the food.  The menu will consist of ham, chicken salad on croissants, ambrosia, chips, and cake.  The cost will come from the unit funds.  A motion made by Jean, seconded by Margaret, that the Board approved a maximum of $500.00 to cover the costs.

NEW  BUSINESS

There was no new business.  The meeting adjourned at 2:45 p.m.
