Minutes of the Board of Director’s Meeting, Unit 215, South Alabama Bridge Assn.

CALL TO ORDER

President Fran Krizman called the meeting to order at 1:45 p.m. Present were Fran, Nancy Hora, Margaret Miller, Nan Watson, Ed Stephens, Jean White, and Bill Barton. Absent were Barbara Slaughter and Bill McGlasson.

None taken in August.

TREASURER’S REPORT

Accepted as posted and distributed.

MEMBERSHIP

No report.

OLD BUSINESS

Sectional Tournament: Nancy reported that almost all committees for our Sectional, which will be held October 26—28, 2007, at the Abbie Byrd Senior Center, are filled. A list is attached. Nancy encouraged local support, and also reported that flyers will be sent to the clubs in Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, and Alabama.

Friendship game: Ed mentioned the Friendship game and agreed to check on it. Grand National Team Game: Nancy will coordinate with Ed.

Maintenance of Club House: A discussion of repairs to the club house followed.

Some things that need attention are the walls in the bathrooms, the carpet and some of the chair seats. Following the discussion, a motion (Nancy, Margaret) was made that a committee consisting of Bill Barton and Margaret Miller will look into suggestions and the cost involved in improving the overall appearance of the bridge club. Motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS

Christmas Party: The board approved the date of Saturday, December 15, 2007

for the Christmas Party. The question of whether to hold the board meeting at the same time was raised. The board voted 3-2-1 in favor of holding the annual meeting at the same time. Fran will find someone to coordinate the food.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:00 pm.
