April 28, 2004 Minutes of the Board of Director’s Meeting Unit 215 South Alabama Bridge Assn. CALL TO ORDER President Ed Stephens called the meeting to order at 1:45 PM. All nine Board members were present. Guest was Bill Cook of Jackson, Ms., president of District 10. The minutes from the March meeting were approved as read. TREASURER’S REPORT Jane Mahoney reported a balance of $8,148.83 in the checking account, and $20,858.37 in the Building Fund. MEMBERSHIP Rhoda reported membership is now 246, down by 9 from last month. Bill Cook made a presentation to the Board, assuring us that if he is elected as District 10 Director he will always consider our problems and concerns. OLD BUSINESS Tournaments Phyllis reports that the Daphne Senior Center is the only site possible for our Fall Tournament, and we would have to use three different rooms. The feasibility of this location was discussed. Phyllis moved that we cancel the Tournament for this year, Anna seconded and motion carried. Income Tax Fran reports that an extension has been filed. She feels we should not have any concerns as we may not have to pay any tax, since we are a non profit organization New Club Manager Several names have been suggested as possible replacements for Cherokee White, who is resigning this post on July first. NEW BUSINESS District 10 Elections Each Board member will vote on the Director in August. The candidates are Bill Cook and Chuck Wilkerson, the incumbent. Goodwill Committee nominations Two nominees will be considered as Goodwill Ambassadors from Unit 215 to send to District 10.
